NBA President Released from EFCC Custody

By Victory Atata
10th December, 2018

The President of the NBA was not arraigned today because the EFCC did not charge him.
The counsel to the NBA President,Chief Wale Olanipekun who led a team of lawyers to court prayed the court to order the  service of the charge to the NBA President in court. The court did not.
According to the Economic and Financial Crimes commission, the IPO in charge of the case did not come with the charge and there was no extra copy.
The Judge adjourned the arraignment to the 18th of December.
On getting out of the court, the EFCC  invited the President to their office to serve him.The President followed them with many other Lawyers.
At the moment,he has been served and the proof of evidence given to him.He has not been asked to go.
However, there are feelers that the commission is deliberately keeping him there to clear from someone above. We don't know who.
More lawyers are begining to converge at the EFCC office in Ikoyi.
The question on everyone's mind is why they  will still keep a man who voluntarily came for his trial even before he was served.
There is no justification for this. Charge served, the President has acknowledged service. Matter is in court. Court has adjourned the matter to December 18th. The President showed good faith by voluntary appearance in court and voluntary visit to EFCC’s office.

The true intention of the commission will become apparent in the coming hours.

We are still waiting
